In 2022, at the Sixth Ward Stepper second line, we found ourselves swept into the vibrant energy of New Orleans, with marching bands and BBQ filling the air. Amanda was there with friends, soaking in the music and energy, when she caught his eye from across the room.

With arms folded in typical Allen fashion, he smiled and their eyes locked. A few minutes later a notification popped up on Amanda's phone: an Instagram message from him. He wrote, “I couldn’t let the chance slip by. Can I take you out?”

That first date turned into many more, and from that second line to today, we’ve been moving in perfect harmony ever since, like our own love song composed in the heart of New Orleans.
